Yes, you need to shave the area you are treating before you use your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser. This removes the surface hair, improving comfort and allowing the laser to reach the hair follicle below your skin’s surface. It also minimises the chances of adverse side effects.
Yes and no. Your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser can be used on some people’s facial hair, particularly women or people with fine / less coarse hair. We do not recommend men or people with very coarse facial hairs use the device on their face. It can only be used from the cheek line downward (i.e. upper lip, chin and sideburn areas) and should not be used on eyebrows.
Your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser is designed to be used for the removal of unwanted body hair. It can be used on legs, arms, armpits, bikini line, fingers, toes and women’s or fine ‘peach fuzz’ type facial hair. It cannot be used on thicker facial hair, on or close to genitalia, the anus or nipples. It should also not be used on sensitive, dry, damaged, sunburnt or tattooed skin.

This is due to the laser targeting the melanin in your hair follicle. For darker skin, the laser would not be able to differentiate between the melanin in the hair and the melanin in the skin itself.
Your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser is designed to work on naturally light brown or darker body hair. Because the laser targets melanin in your hair follicles, it will be less effective on lighter hair colours such as blonde, red or white/grey as they do not have enough melanin to absorb the laser energy.
No, do not use your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser on your genitals or private areas such as the anus. These areas may have more sensitive skin, a darker skin tone and/or a greater hair density. Using your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser in these areas may cause serious skin injury. You can, however, use the Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser on your bikini line, which is the pubic hair visible beyond the boundaries of a swimsuit.
To unlock your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser, you’ll need to hold the Skin Sensor in the base of your device against the area of skin you wish to treat. When using your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser, you can get proven, permanent results.* The Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser is clinically proven to give you up to 100% hair reduction even 2 years post-treatment. (Results have not been measured beyond this time period.) To get there, you'll need to do the 6 bi-weekly treatments, followed by monthly top up treatments for 3 months.
For optimal hair removal results, use your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser for 6 sessions, once every 2 weeks. After this 12-week period, complete monthly top ups for 3-6 months. At this point you should see up to 100% hair reduction with clinically proven, permanent results.*
Before starting laser hair removal treatments you need to shave the desired treatment area. This ensures that the hairs are short and only slightly above the surface. This allows the laser to better target the hair follicle beneath your skin's surface. This will give you better results and also helps to significantly reduce the risk of adverse side effects such as discomfort, pain and injury. It's also recommended that you apply our Phytograph Hydrating Calm Soothing Gel before using your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser. The gel helps reduce the warming sensation, maximising comfort whilst you permanently remove your unwanted hair.
Laser hair removal uses a process known as Selective Photothermolyis. This is the name of the process whereby a laser beam targets specific tissue in your skin. Which tissue is targeted and the effect that the laser has on it, is dependent on the wavelength of the laser. This wavelength effectively targets the melanin (pigment) in your hair. The hair absorbs the laser's light energy, converting it into heat.
