2026

The all NEW Tria 4X and Tria FRX.

The new era of Tria, under the stewardship of The Beauty Tech Group launched in 2026. With all new, modernised product designs, featuring improved materials and aesthetics, these two new Tria devices built upon our market-leading technology with faster treatments and improved user experiences.

2025

The Beauty Tech Group on London Stock Exchange.

2025 saw The Beauty Tech Group float on the London Stock Exchange, marking a new era for the business and the beauty technology industry, bringing more eyes and suitors to the suite of brands than ever before.

2024

Tria joins The Beauty Tech Group.

In 2024, Tria was acquired by The Beauty Tech Group, global leaders in the beauty technology industry, bringing together a portfolio of innovative beauty brands: CurrentBody, ZIIP Beauty and Tria Laser.

2022

Tria: Best in Beauty.

In 2022, Tria won an 8th consecutive ‘Best Hair Removal Device’ award for the Tria 4X at the InStyle Best Beauty Awards. The Tria SmoothBeauty™ Laser (a precursor to the new Tria FRX) also won a 5th ‘Best Skincare Tool’ award, cementing Tria as 13-time winners.

2013

Original Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser Launched.

The iconic Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser originally launched in 2013, selling over a million devices in the years that followed. This version of the device was an advancement on previous technologies, bringing customers the best in at-home laser hair removal technology.

2012

Tria SmoothBeauty™ Laser is launched.

A precursor to the new Tria FRX, the Tria SmoothBeauty™ Laser was launched in 2012, initially in Canada, before later gaining FDA clearance and launching in the USA. This device represented a shift-change in at-home skin rejuvenation technology, with clinically proven wrinkle-reducing results.

2011

Tria Hair Removal Laser 3.0 is launched.

In 2011, the 3rd generation of the Tria Hair Removal Laser was launched. This device was later superseded by the iconic Tria 4X. At the time, this device represented the best in laser technology, with quicker treatments and expert precision.

2009

Tria Hair Removal Laser 2.0 is launched.

2009 saw the launch of the 2nd generation of the Tria Hair Removal Laser. This device featured increased settings, providing more customised treatment options and comfort for the user.

2008

Tria: FDA-Cleared

In a pivotal moment for at-home laser hair removal technology, the Tria Hair Removal Laser became the first ever FDA-cleared at-home laser hair removal device.

2007

Tria is Clinically Proven.

In 2007, world renowned laser expert and former President of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Dr Ronald G. Wheeland M.D. conducted a study to validate Tria’s efficacy through a human trial. This saw user’s report permanent results* and up to 100% hair reduction.

2004

The Original Tria Hair Removal Laser Launches.

The first iteration of the Tria Hair Removal laser was launched in 2004. The first of many industry breakthroughs and advancements in at-home laser technology, this device represented the start of a product range that would go on to change the hair removal industry forever.

2003

Tria is founded by scientists.

The pioneers behind the LightSheer™, the ‘gold standard’ for in-clinic laser hair removal, founded Tria Laser (formerly known as Tria Beauty and before that, SpectraGenics). Their goal: to take the LightSheer™ (which weighed 120lb and cost $100,000) and empower you to achieve those same clinical-grade results with a handheld laser from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
